STDs genital warts question?
Can genital warts be transmitted after successfull treatment? if you had them but the affected area is 100% clear can still be transmitted?
I do not believe so – there has to be a wart present which is shedding the virus in order for someone else to pick up this virus. you might want to ask your gynecologist this question for a definite answer. you could call his nurse and ask.
WHY DO YOU THINK THERES SO MUCH STD FOR GOD?????
YES, Genital Warts are Usually Caused by The HPV Virus..which There is No Cure for But It is Sexually Transmitted!!
City Journalist Directory – AUA offers help for HPV Sufferers to get rid of warts and cervical cancer
Washington DC USA Monday, May 23, 2011 new treatments and medications to get rid of genital warts and cervical cancer are going to be showcased on Tuesday in Washington at the AUA – American Urological Association annual meeting. Details of the presentation are based on studies from Austria confirming the penile foreskin can harbor the the human papillomavirus – HPV – responsible for cervical cancer and genital warts. the paper will enlighten on prevention and cure. AUA spokesman Dr. Kevin McVary said – quote – “To have HPV present in about 30% of males is pretty interesting,” – more – “What we don’t know is if any HPV in it was potentially transmittable. having it present isn’t the same thing as being able to pass it on. There are a lot of unknowns.” it will be interesting to see what new developments are tabled after the AUA meetings. Will genital warts virus(HPV) be totally cleared?
I have few questions and need a relevant answer regarding HPV genital warts.
1. could genital wart's virus(HPV) be totally killed by our natural body system? if yes. how long does it usually take for our body immune sys to clear it up?
2. if our body immune had supressed the virus to dormant(virus still there), but no longer physical wart. do we have a chance to pass it to our partner. if yes, please advice on how do we have children with our wife in future?
3. Genital wart is caused by virus HPV but where does the virus live in ? Does it live in our DNA/Genes?
i have this same question. CDC.gov and ASHA and dermatologist association of america seem to differ on whether the virus really goes away. but they all say that within 6-24 months your body should be able to suppress it. treat the warts and be honest with anyone one you intend to have sex with.
viruses will never be fully cured but bacteria will so no
Genital warts are caused by the human papillomavirus, or HPV. some types of HPV cause genital warts. But these are not the same types of HPV that cause abnormal cervical cell changes and cervical cancer.
You are more likely to get genital warts if you:
Do not use condoms every time you have sex or genital contact.
Have more than one sex partner or have a high-risk partner(s) who has had multiple sex partners or HPV-infected sex partners.
Start sexual activity before age 18.
Have an impaired immune system that makes it hard for your body to fight infection.
Symptoms show up 1-6 or more after having sex Small, bumpy warts on the sex organs and anus. The warts do not go away. Itching or burning around the sex organs
YOU CAN GIVE GENITAL WARTS TO YOUR SEXUAL PARTNER(S).
More warts grow and are harder to get rid of. A mother with warts can give them to her baby during childbirth. may lead to precancerous conditions of of the cervix.
How are they treated?
Talk to your doctor about whether you should treat genital warts. they usually go away with no treatment, but they may also spread. Most people decide to treat them because of the symptoms or how the warts look. But if you don't have symptoms and are not worried about how the warts look, you can wait and see if the warts go away.
If you do decide to treat genital warts, talk to your doctor about the best treatment for you. There are prescription medicines you or your doctor can put on the warts. Or your doctor can remove them with lasers, surgery, or by freezing them off.
Even if you treat visible warts or your warts go away without treatment, the HPV infection can stay in your body's cells. it is possible to spread genital warts to your partner even if you have no signs of them.
Finding out that you have genital warts may make you feel bad about yourself or about sex. Counseling or a support group may help you feel better.

PATIENTS at 16 GP surgeries in South Lakeland and eight in Eden can now get sexual health treatment and checks the same way they would get an appointment for any other health issue.
Fifty GP surgeries throughout Cumbria now have a GP or practice nurse who can offer appointments to carry out a range of sexual health checks, offer advice and provide treatment.
Services on offer include testing and treatment for common sexually transmitted infections (STIs), contraceptive advice and in some surgeries fitting coils and contraceptive implants.
GPs and also practice nurses can carry out tests for common STIs such as chlamydia, gonorrhoea, HIV, genital herpes, syphilis and genital warts. These are usually carried out via a urine test, a blood test, by examination or via a swab.
Practices offering the sexual health and contraceptive services will display ‘Ask your GP’ posters.
Patients wishing to book an appointment to discuss contraception or to get tested for STIs can request an appointment with the GP or nurse who specialises in sexual health at reception. Information will also be available in surgeries stating which doctor or nurse specialises in sexual health so patients can make an appointment discreetly.

What's the best treatment for genital warts?
Kissing a frog (that turns out to be a prince)
go ask a doctor and stop wasting peoples time answering a question that is meant for a doctor. you are a real jerk.
Genital warts cannot be cured. the warts may go away, but you always have the virus that gave them to you.
cut it off! no you need to take your non condom wearing stupid butt to the dr before it falls the heck off. you should get 200pts taken away for contracting something so easily avoided. dah dad dah
Sorry to hear that. best treatment is Doctor! Go! now!
Go to the doctor right now.
See your doctor and dump who ever is giving you all this crap.
just pick at them. nothing to worry about. they go away by themslef. a little clearasil might help too =)
as of right now there is no known cure, but thanks to the bitchs of the new england medical board and christains something board, there may never be. apparntly some reasearches have found a CURE not a releif a cure for hpv (gential warts). but because gential warts are not as a promblem as aids they have protested the drug being relased to the general public. i belive there exact words where we dont want young adults thinking there are cures avaliable. on the hopes that young adults will wait till there married or pratice safer sex.

Can Genital Warts be contracted by a wart on a finger?
A doctor told me yes! If there was an open cut on my genitals it is possiable! all though there is not very many cases, it still could happen… can someone give me more information.. Thank you
Genital warts are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV) and are USUALLY sexually transmitted. what gets confusing is that there are over 30 types of HPV, some like types 1, 2, and 3 which cause warts on fingers, type 4 which likes the bottom of the feet, and types 6 and 11 which are the genital ones. several HPV types are linked to cancer risk, like type 35 for cervical cancer.
HPV is a hardy virus that can be spread by skin-to-skin contact with another person, sexual activity, or by self-innoculation (from carrying the virus on your fingers to other parts of your body). it can lie dormant in your body, so a person may be infected with it but display no symptoms.
It is definitely possible.
Your doctor is absolutely correct. you should trust your doctor. The frequency of this happening is not as common as transmitting warts sexually, but it does happen. FYI…Herpes can also me transmitted by your hands or mouth to your genitals. These viruses are tricky and extremely contagious. just be safe, practice safe sex and don't beat yourself up if you have warts. many do!
If the strain in your finger is a strain that can also cause genital warts then that's what will happen. you should go to a doctor or podiatrist to get that finger wart zapped off.
Genital warts is caused by a different virus from normal warts. you can get warts around your genital area, just like any other skin on your body though.
Yes you definetely can!!
ive gotten infected by a guy with herpes and as i had a paper cut on my finger a sore has appeared on my finger where the cut was!!
dont think so…..they're both caused by hpv, but they are different types of hpv
i'm not %100 percent sure though, that's just what i was told
no it isn't possible to contract it from a wart on your finger!!! that's not where you contract it from. you contract it from fluids
If a dr told you yes then quite possibly. I have NEVER heard such things before but if it came from a medical professional then I guess you could?
why would you trust the opinion of random yahoo answers people over the professional opion of a doctor?
I think not. By genital only.
all warts are contagious
YES………..
PLEASE KEEP THE WARTS TO "YOURSELF"……..
Listen to the doctor. He is right.
Yes, so be very careful.
It's possible but unlikely. Get some cream to put on it and cover it with a plaster!
no they are two different things.
hahahah e that would be an epic fail.
ooohh yeah…you better wash that bad boy real goooood
What is the difference between oral herpes and genital herpes?
If u have oral herpes, can they be transmitted to the genitals? They are different right?
yes, 2 separate viruses, though similar.
but keep safe and don't go doing stuff if you have an oral outbreak.
No, they aren't really different and yes, oral herpes can be transmitted to the genitals.
There are two different herpes viruses, hsv-1 and hsv-2 but they cause exactly the same symptoms and both can infect and be transferred to the mouth and the genitals.
The only difference is that hsv-1 has a slight preference for being on the mouth and hsv-2 prefers the genitals. This does not manifest itself in how easily they infect the other site though – they are both happy to infect either site.
Hsv-1 causes about 95% of oral herpes infections hsv-2 5%
However, hsv-1 is also responsible for 50%+ of genital herpes, probably because oral sex is so popular! Hsv-2 accounts for about 50% of new genital herpes infections, even less depending on where you live.
The only difference is in the average number of recurrences they cause and how infectious they are.
For example, hsv-1 is infectious for about 18% of the time on your mouth, but if it causes genital herpes it is infectious about 3-4% of the time.
Hsv-2 is more infectious when it is on your genitals than hsv-1 – on average it causes about 4 outbreaks a year while hsv-1 on average only causes about 1 outbreak every other year.
If you are the one with oral herpes, you probably won't transmit it to your own genitals, as your immune system will provide protection for you against this, but you should be aware you can transmit it to someone else's genitals if you give them oral sex.
If you don't have oral herpes, if someone gives you oral sex they can give you genital herpes if they have oral herpes – it can even happen when they don't have a cold sore visible. in fact 70% of infections are transmitted when no symptoms are present. I caught genital herpes through my boyfriend givingg me oral sex. Although I knew he got cold sores he did not have one at the time.
Contrary to a previous answer, oral herpes is not a milder infection, it is just the same – in fact some people who have herpes both orally and genitally find that their oral herpes is more severe.
In fact, of the possible combinations of infection you can have with herpes – hsv-1 on the mouth, hsv-2 on the genitals, hsv-1 on the genitals, hsv-2 on the mouth – hsv-1 on the mouth, which is the normal form of oral herpes, is actually the most infectious and can easily infect the genitals of someone who does not have the protection of already having on their mouth. it is infectious slightly more of the time than genital herpes hsv-2, and 5x as much of the time as genital hsv-1.
For herpes simplex virus, there is a type 1 and type 2
oral herpes – its type 1. milder infection but appearance wise, could be debilitating. (cold sores over lips)
genital herpes – type 2, BUT there are cases whereby it could still be under type 1. however herpes type 2 is very rare.
yes, oral herpes can be transmitted to the genitals, either ways.
Location, location, location. You can have either type in either location (or for that matter elsewhere).
Could I have genital warts?
My girlfriend went to the clinic because her vagina was irritated and bleeding a little bit from the outside. she said the doctor said it's probably just irritated and gave her some ointment and also said it could be genital warts. I am in the marines and they test you for STD's before you enlist. I researched genital warts and it saw images and it doesn't look like anything I have but I want to be sure. I do have very small close together bumps that are not swollen or irritated. it looks like bumps you get when hair is starting to grow somewhere. they are light pink/ color of my skin on my penis and the base of my penis. it has been like that since I can remember (before I had any sexual encounter of any kind). I ran track in high school, so I had full physicals every year of high school and a full physical before I joined the marines (I've had my share of doctors look at my penis..) and no doctor has ever said anything about it even after pulling the skin back and examining closely. I do sometimes get irritated and gets a little red on the tip but I know a lot of other guys that happens to with no medical condition. I have never in my life bled from my penis or had any swelling of any kind. what do you think?
HPV is not included in any STD screening. there is no HPV test for the male. The only HPV screening methods that have been approved by FDA are for screening of the cervix only. Men and women with genital warts are usually screened by visual.
Many people have different bumps on their private parts. I can't diagnosis what you have. The pictures on the internet do not look like genital warts that most of us have…the pic are of extreme cases. you can also have genital HPV types and never have a bump on the penis. Many men and women carry the virus with no signs or abnormal cell changes. HPV is a common sexually transmit infection. if you have engaged in sex you probably have acquired an HPV type or two.
If your girl friend has been diagnosed with genital warts…then you share her HPV type or types if you have engaged in sex with her. it can take years before abnormal cell changes of the cervix develop or visible genital warts.
You probably have genital warps. if you're interested to heal them quickly and safe I recommend Wartrol because it fights eruption on scrotum and about genitals, atrophy of penis and testicles, parts itch, eczema with gastric derangements, pimples, vesicles, and pustules.
