STD cures? – Yahoo! Answers

I have a friend who has genital warts and he asked me today if there was any cure for them.. i told him i didnt know. Is there any cure for him? I feel bad for him. can it be cured with antibiotics or creams or something… and where do you get those?

No, genital warts cannot be cured. the best thing you can do is stay away from sex when having a breakout. Genital warts are a herpes virus, and there is no cure. sorry. go to the doc, they may have something to help keep the breakout under control a bit, unfortunatly you will always have this problem.

Tell your friend to visit this website amoils.com/genital-warts.html He will not reqret it, I know people who have had great results from using these oil, they are natural oils.

Genital warts are generally caused by HPV (human papillomavirus) and can not be cured. They can be treated with medicine and/or medical procedures if they do not go away. It is extremely important that he get it checked out by a medical doctor. 90% of genital warts are unlikely to have cancer causing potential, but there is that remaining 10% that are very dangerous and are a common cause of cervical cancer in women. It is extremely easy to transmit warts to a partner.

nope, there is not a cure for genital warts (although, I think if they are caused by HPV, there might be). However, there are medicines that can help make them better. I would tell him to talk to his doctor.

GO TO THE DR THERE IS NO CURE ONLY THING THEY CAN DO IS TO HELP CONTROL OUTBREAKS . AND IF YOU ARE UNDER 18 STILL GO TO THE DR BECAUSE YOU ARE NOW A CARRIER OF THE DISEASE

Yes there are cures. There are self applied treatments such as podophyllotoxin(Condyline,Wartec)which is not recommended for internal warts or for extensive warts that are more than 10 square centimeters. Then there's Imicuimod cream (aldara) which enhances the bodies immune response to the infection.some warts dissapear over time but then some grow in size aswell.if you cannot find the meds, get your friend to see a gynocologist for inhouse treatment.

Go see the doctor ASAP.

How are genital warts treated?

A clinician puts a cold liquid chemical on the warts to remove them.
You may need to come back more than once to finish the wart treatment.
You may need longer treatment if you have HIV. The warts may increase in size and number more quickly. Tell your clinician if you are HIV positive.

Will the warts come back?

Warts may return, even after treatment, this is because the virus stays in your skin once you are infected. You can pass the virus to your sex partners during vaginal or anal sex, even when you don't have warts you can see.

Had a surgical excision of a small genital wart over a head of my penis before 2 months so i was abstaining?

had a surgical excision of a small genital wart over a head of my penis before 2 months so i was abstaining from sexual intercourse. I had sexual intercourse before 15 days with a condom and everything seemed normal to me. so today i had a sexual intercourse without condom first time after surgical excision. When i was penetrating i felt little pain but ignored it. after 2-3 minute i found blood stains everywhere and came to know that the place where the outer skin of penis is joined with inner one is somewhat torned and is bleeding. my GF also complained that she too was bleeding and thinks that her periods have restarted which stopped just before 2-3 days. so we can say that both of our blood came in contact with each other. this never happened before as we had sex multiple times without condom before this surgery also…

We both are clean no HIV or other diseases other than a genital wart which I got removed before 2 months…but now i am noticing a re-development of a small wart at about the same place where i got operated earlier..Can this be bcoz of unprotected sex…I just want to know what can be consciences of this…Can this be dangerous…Plz help me!!!!!

How many normal paps can you have after HPV to not spread?

I was just wondering after being diagnosed with HPV and abnormal pap, how many normal pap smears should you have to be considered hpv free?

Hpv is the virus that causes abnormal cervical cells. You can get rid of the abnormal cells but you can never get rid of the virus and always have the possibility of spreading it without protection.

POSSIBLY IF U TAKE MEDS FOR IT BUT U CANT TOTALLY GET RID OF IT, ITS WIT U FOREVA!

How great is the risk of contracting HPV from performing felatio?

Not very high unless you got bleeding gums or bleeding mouth ulcers.

Alli has it right. It's not just an STD its a virus that can but does not always affect the genital area.

How is genital herpes transmitted?

Is genital herpes just passed through an exchange of fluids or can it be passed by mere penetration?
If the female partner was clean and the male had the herpes virus, could he transmit it without any exchange of fluids?
Also, vice versa, if the female partner had herpes, does the male have to ejaculate in order to be infected?
Odd question, I know. I'm just curious. Haha.
Thanks for your answers.

Skin to skin contact will most def transmit herpes. a person may not even know they have it and may not show any signs of it at all but direct contact with an infected person does the trick.

just touching does it.. you can get mouth herpes on your genitals and genital herpes on your mouth, or anus

How to get rid of genital warts ?

Apparently I have contracted genital warts from hpv. I have read that I actually could have had hpv for some time and the genital warts are just now appearing. Is there any type of medicine the doctor or health department can give me to resolve this? thanks.

They often go away on their own. If they don't, they are usually removed by freezing, laser, or surgical removal.

There is no cure, so they may come back in the future.

The good news is that the strains of HPV that cause actual, visible warts are not the strains that are associated with causing cancer.

You need to see doctor to determine specific type of disease and appropriate treatment. In the meantime avoid sex to prevent spreading the STD.

How to get rid of genital warts
You might have been suffering from warts for some time and only finally got your courage up to go and talk with your doctor about it.

But now you want to know how to get rid of warts.

This is a question which has plagued many people the world over, and the answers you get back are in some cases astonishing.

To begin with, on the topic of how to get rid of genital warts, you have a few main choices to make. these go along the lines of whether you want medical treatment in the form of prescription medications and surgical treatments, or whether you want natural remedies to help you get rid of your warts.

You have the option of trying out treatment methods such as Acupuncture, Acupressure, Herbalism and Ayurveda amongst other things. these are normally classed as Naturopathic treatments as they deal primarily with natural – as opposed to chemical or surgical – treatment methods.

If this doesn't appeal to you, you always have the other two options open to you, that of medications and surgery. If you're wondering how to get rid of warts through medical procedures, don't worry there are many treatment options available to you.

These range from prescription medications such as Imiquimod cream, Podofilox gel, Interferon, and Trichloracetic acid to Polyphenon and Fluorouracil. There is also the option to go the surgical route in your campaign of how to get rid of warts.

These options include, but are not limited, to surgical excision, electrocautery, cryotherapy, laser therapy, and Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure (LEEP). All of these methods have been known to work in getting rid of the physical signs of warts.

If on the other hand you want to go through with natural treatments and remedies, you will find that there is no shortage in that field either. You will be able to find out how to get rid of warts using these methods from a qualified herbalist or a naturopath.

Some of the better known methods of how to get rid of warts includes the use of garlic. This Nature's wonder drug can normally be found in your kitchen and if you can just stand the pungent smell you can get rid of warts by peeling and halving a garlic clove and then rubbing it on the affected area.

You will need to do this at least twice a day until the warts are gone. If you're wondering how to get rid of warts without the use of something as pungent as garlic, you also have the option of using herbal tinctures, or suppositories.

The tinctures can be bought form a naturalist store, or you can even make it yourself. as for the suppositories these are best made fresh at the time of needs.

Men’s health week which runs from 13 – 19 June aims to get men take to action early to prevent health problems. while many men will take their car for a service regularly – they neglect to do the same for themselves.

Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust is reminding men that it is important to have a full sexual health screen at your local clinic at least once a year. Make sure everything is running as it should be, to be certain you do not have any sexually transmitted disease (STI), and so are not passing them on.

top 5 tips for men’s health week 1. Check under the bonnet. while your car has an MOT only once a year, you should check your own tackle more frequently! Testicular cancer affects around 2000 men in the UK every year. Men should check about once a month, feeling for any lumps or bumps that were not there before.

2. Unexpected leak? Bacterial sexually transmitted diseases (STI’s) such as Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea and Syphilis are more common in men. There may be no symptoms at all, or discharge, pain when passing urine, or painful testicles. these STI’s can be treated with a simple course of antibiotics.

3. Full Service History. There is not always a quick fix for STI’s. Viral STI’s such as HIV, Herpes, genital warts have no cure, although we can treat some of the symptoms which differ depending on the infection.

4. Bumpy road ahead. Mental health problems affect one in four people and both men and women suffer from it equally. Depression is the most common mental health problem, and men are half as likely as women to seek help if they are suffering.

5. Drive Safely. The best way to protect yourself from STI’s is to wear a condom. you can pick up free condoms at your local Contraception and Sexual Health Clinic.

Southern Health’s sexual health team is at Andover High Street Health fair on 17 June to give advice and information. It’s cheaper than a garage bill!

If you are worried about your health, or suspect there is anything different then please see your GP as soon as possible. further information and details about sexual health services in Hampshire can be found at: Chlamydia screening – haveyougotit.nhs.uk HIV prevention – HIVprevention.org.uk Contraception – getiton.nhs.uk

What kind of doctor for genital warts?

What kind of doctor should I make an appointment with to get treatment for genital warts?

family doc or obgyn

Your family doctor or a doctor at an STD clinic can have a look at those and determine if they can be treated there or if you should go elsewhere. if you want to see a specialist: females should go see a gynecologist; males should see a urologist.
