As an uneducated and naive 18 year old I managed to catch genital warts back in 2005. it was just the one wart and I used a herbel remedy to remove it (well, I thought it had removed it). I was unaware of genital warts at the time, how it was caught etc and presumed that once it had gone that was that. About 10 months later I began a relationship and approximately 8 months into that relationship she developed warts to my shock and surprise. She was more informed about what to do and went to the clinic where she had them treated – unfortunately, a few months later I then developed about 4 or 5 more little ones which I semi-treated by using warticon cream – they never fully went, the relationship ended for other reasons and I decided to just leave them be. Is it possible that the virus managed to spread on myself during this relationship? About 3 years had passed and I decided to try and get rid of them once and for all – I have had several cyrotherapy treatments and also I use warticon cream – they both work initially – but then the same warts come back within a week – I must be on my 6th cycle of treatment at least by now and yet they still keep recurring – in one instance a new one has appeared at a completely different location. I went to my GP to request aldara cream as I believe this has a better clearance rate but he refused to prescribe it – just referring me back to the GUM clinic.
After having this for 5 years, does this mean I'm doomed to having them recurring persistently for the rest of my life? Will they ever go away for any longer than a week to a month? could my immune system still defeat the virus or should I give up all hope? I am a very healthy, active person, I dont smoke – although I do drink alcohol most weekends.
I am now in a new relationship, who I have informed of my situation – what are the chances of her both contracting the virus, and furthermore actually developing physical symptoms? We have been sexually active (always using a condom) for 3 months now and there appear to be no symptoms. also, should she contract the virus – is it likely to then make my own symptoms worse?
Finally, I have a warm sensation (not quite burning, but just an irritable warming sensation) which feels as if it is all around my penis, anus and possibly scrotum – it almost feels like a burning feeling within my body rather than externally – it also doesnt appear to be where any warts are visibly present – could this have anything to do with HPV? I am clear of all other STIs.

You can get the warts removed but you will always have the disease in your system and alwas be able to spread it. you can't really prevent spreading it with a condom because even a condom will leave the scrotum unprotected. there is a shot that your new partner can get at her doctors office that can protetct against hpv and cervicalcancer called the gardisal shot. Genital warts by far are gross. just try going on line and searching for genital warts images.. Man, there are some ugly ones out there. mine definately were no where near as bad as some of the images I saw online. Luckily I was recomended the product below by someone. My fiancee was diagnosed with genital warts and I have made an appt to be checked also.
However, the doctor told him this and it made no sense to me and upset him:
He told my fiancee that if i was clean (slim chance) then we would be fine
However, if i was diagnosed also that we could NEVER have sex again, even after the treatments are over and the virus is "dormat" (i understand it can still be passed though)
BUT if he has it, and i do to then he could dump me and go sleep with whoever he wanted that isn't affected (wouldn't he pass it to them this way?)
If truly 50% of sexually active people, I'm sure someone has been in this situation before.
I'm interested in knowing, since we're engaged, if we could ever be intimate again?

I'm very surprised at the doctor saying that. I hope you go to a different one to be treated and ask him. Also, there is a vaccine for women now and that might be appropriate for you. meanwhile, until you have both been treated, I'd use condoms until you are.
Herpies is a virus. Hopefully you both will remain monogamists during your committed relationship. Virus' can be healed. Raw veggie juices and a vegan diet can help. Also, you can use rubbers in the mean time until it's all cleared up.
There is no cure for HPV. There is only prevention. Once you have it, you keep it like old luggage. It can cause cervical cancer and unsightly warts. the virus may go dormant, but will always be there…even if you have warts removed, you still have HPV.
I don't know where the vegan diet myth from the other answer came from. Vegetable juice and a vegan diet will do nothing to get rid of HPV. This diet will however cure you from eating meat or products derived from animals….but that isn't really an illness 
I am sure your fiancee mis-interpreted the doctor's advice. There is no reason for two infected people to abstain. If you are clean still, you are a candidate for the vaccine to prevent infection. If you both have it, it won't get worse….you already have it. You can't "catch it more" than you already have.

If you have the virus, then you can have sex whenever (still not when the cream is on because it will weaken the condom; the condom may rub the cream off) because you won't pass it back and forth. If you don't have the virus, then you should wait to the warts are gone for you to have sex with him. He is less likely to pass the virus to you if a condom is used and the warts are gone. some sexual positions should be avoided as well (the positions that allow the most skin to skin contact because that is how the virus is spread).
HPV genital Warts?
I have them, two different types of warts too which confuses the hell out of me, standard lifted warts and also Planar warts, I have been extremely careful and have abstained from sexual contact since I discovered the problem but Paints dont seem to work and only cause much distress in the genital area and freezing has worked temporarily but they just seem to continue to return. Is there a proven treatment that will eradicate this problem?

I have genital warts.I have a wierd case.I've never gotten anything on my vagina..just my anal area.I've had the hpv virus since December.They have been doing acid treatments in the past.But now on Thursday I have to get laser surgery with an anal doctor.is there a huge chance that the warts will return? And how long will they be gone from the laser surgery? They always seemed to come back after the acid treatments were done.Did u have laser surgery down there??..They said they r puttin me to sleep.so I'm not to worried about pain.But I just wanna know if they are most likley gonna return and how fast will they return?
Theirs is a good chance they might come back. Sumtimes you will have to get them removed several times before their completely irradiated. also their is a vaccine that protects you against genital warts but you must have it injected before you become infected. also some HPV's clear up by themselves in a year or two. You should have a list of questions to ask your doctor.
There is just a good of chance they'll come back with laser removal. I've had some removed with a laser and they came back after about 3 months. It was nice not to have them but it sucks that they came back. the surgery doesn't hurt. You may be uncomfortable for a few days afterward though. I hope to get the surgery again, its just expensive so I don't know how many times my insurance will cover it.

did mine with the freeze too.that was when i was 16 im now 27 and they only return when im extremely depressed but when it do come i don't have it real bad and it will go away in a week at the most

I wouldn't suggest doing any more acid treatments. They can turn out fine ifyou have a good doctor….but if the person isn't competent the acid can damage normal tissue.

I have had HPV show up on my pap before, non-wart kind, I had to have cryotherapy after a cervical biopsy (called a colposcopy). however, my paps have been clear for the last 5-8 years, so my doctor said it is resolved. But I have read it doesn't ever go away.
Some HPV goes away on its own, You may not get warts. Make sure you get regular well woman exams and protect yourself.
Questiona about HPV and genital warts?
Nine years ago, I had an abnormal pap smear, which lead to having a colposcopy. the doc at the time then told me that I had HPV. at my next pap, 6 months later, the doc said that my cells were back to normal and that I shouldn't really worry. I have not had an abnormal pap since (and have went faithfully, every year, to be examined).
My questions are….is it possible to have HPV, but not have actual genital warts until 9 years later? From the research I did, this seems a little strange.
I'm not even sure if they are warts on my genital region (since I never saw them before). I do have a yeast infection right now (which I need to get treatment for today), but I have these little bumps almost lining my outter "lips". They are very small, the same color as my skin (maybe a little more red). They itch very bad (although that could be the yeast infection). I am in pain when I urinate (again – could be the yeast infection).

Treatment of genital warts…?
I'm a 20 year old male and I got genital warts from my wife who had HPV and at first I didn't think much of it but now they have spread and its very embarrassing. I want to go to the doctor to get treatment but I recently lost my medical insurance so my question is "is there anything I can do to treat them myself?" I was told that Hydrogen Peroxide would treat them but I'm not entirely sure.
There is no home remedy that works in removing the wart. they are lots of claims to some of these treatments….and if they worked…the virus was probably about to regress on its own. None of the over the counter wart meds are recommend for the treatment of genital warts. Many recommend to debride the lesions with a pumice stone or emery board. this is often not reasonable with warts of the genital area. they are some over the counter meds that use a freezing method…if you are game you could try this method…but it is not approved for use on the delicate tissues of the genital area.
Hydrogen Peroxide will not remove them.
Many health clinics and planned parenthood will help you in removing the warts.
Because of uncertainty regarding the effect of treatment on future transmission of HPV and the possibility of spontaneous resolution, an acceptable alternative for some persons is to forego treatment and wait for spontaneous resolution.

if you dont have insurance, you should go to your local county health department for advice. I wouldn't try anything to treat yourself. Especially "down there"… they will be able to help you for next to free, especially if you cannot afford insurance (like most of us these days)…….they are caused by the HPV virus, which it sounds like you are aware of, and will keep coming back, sometimes our bodies absorb them, and they go away on their own. I had a pap test postitive for hpv yrs ago…..then somehow the virus left my body untreated…I have had normal pap tests since..I have heard that is common..but I would definitley get checked, that may be the least of your worries…
Hey i've got the same problem and i heard some where or read that if you take an air-duster for like computer keyboards hold it upside down and it will spray out liquid nitrogen and put that on a q-tip and then apply to wart i haven't tried it yet but I'm sure it would work
