bad situation my girl friend has hpv?
my girlfriend had just found out she has herpes. she never had any out brake or anything and the doctor told her its cureable and shes in the 1st stage. so we were talking and on of my friends pushed me and me and her lips touched she didnt have a out brake or anything and i dont have any open cuts on the out side of my mouth but i do have 2 cuts under my tung from chewing on straws or what not. what should i do about this like would i have herpes? and they said she got it from sharing blistecs or something like that and the doctor told her to come back in 2 weeks what is this like is it a STD herpe or like shingles chicken poxx i really dont know what to do can some one please help meive been wit her for 1 year 5 months. and they never told her what kind of herpes im assuming oral because her best friend sucked my cousins …. and he has genital herpes now and my girl used her bestfriends blistex 1 time what gets me is the doctor said its “Cureable” from what i understand there isnt a cure for herpes right its controlable but not removeable

Answer by Herpes can be a very deadly disease, if left untreated. Go see a doctor about it and get tested for it. If you test positive, which we hope you dont, then seek the best treatment for it. Dont worry, it should go away gradually with much treatment… should you choose to recieve it.

They are two different things here, and there are no stages involved. HPV is not curable, neither is herpes. Shingles is chicken pox, round 2, and not contagious unless you’ve never had chicken pox to begin with. you get none of those diseases from Blistex. HSV, or herpes, is a family of virus that cause blister like lesions. most of the human population has oral herpes, or cold sores. a good many folks have genital herpes. Some will have outbreaks, some will not. the immune system usually suppresses it so you don’t have them often. HPV is a wart virus family. Some make warts on fingers and hands, some cause genital warts, and some cause problems on the cervix of women. That sort is detected with a pap smear most of the time, and is treatable by removing the affected part of the cervix. It’s not spread by kissing. your girlfriend really needs to know for certain what she has. Once you find that out, then you can ask the specific questions that will get you more useful information. In the meantime, I wouldn’t worry about touching lips and kissing. Just make sure if you two are having sex that you use a condom.
Answer by angleodWell, hpv and herpes are not the same thing. but anyways, chances are, you have herpes anyways because most people have it without ever showing signs of it. They usually get it as small children (playing with infected toys, kisses from elders, etc) and your body learns how to keep it under control without ever having a breakout. the only time people usually do have breakouts is when they’re stressed or have a cold; the body is busy fighting other problems and the herpes virus wreaks havoc for a little until your body gets it under control again (hence the name “cold sore”, which is caused by herpes).
Just don’t worry about it, chill and relax and do what’s comfortable for you.
